I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. Vancouver Planted Expo 2021

I won tickets to planted expo formally veg expo. Prior to the pandemic I went to veg expo every year. This is the first time I have gone as a vegan in the past I was vegetarian I didn’t check but I assume everything was vegan this year. I was hesitant to go to a convention during a pandemic they checked vaccine passports, and masks needed to be worn if not eating. The booths were spaced out but it was a bit awkward eating samples having to take the mask on and off especially if a booth got a little crowd around it. It never got uncomfortably crowded but I did miss a few booths. I felt there were less wrapped samples than at past events but foodie buddy said she thought it was the same as the past. It was nice to be able to attend this kind of an event after a long time.

When you walk in they had reusable bags with gummies  from Herbaland to take. I liked that they laid out all the coupons/promotional materials on the table so you could take what you wanted. In the past I have volunteered and have filled those bags with coupons and samples the new method was much better. 


What did I buy for the show special prices?

I entered a bunch of contests while there so hopefully I will win something else from the online contests. I won some candy, a reusable bag, a pen, and a notepad at the show. 

The expo was great this year and I will look forward to going again in the future.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. It is about seven months after the procedure now.  Where I live you stay overnight in the hospital for pain management they give you a self controlled morphine pump. There are other places where you will go home 4 hours after the procedure. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once. Post Menopausal Bleeding MRI and results

 If you haven’t read my previous posts read part 1   Post Menopausal bleeding and Ultrasounds . It was getting long so I decided to start a new post. I got the call for an MRI at the end of March. It was scheduled for a couple days later at 2 am at Montford hospital. I only know about this hospital because I work for National Defence and we have offices there. I knew it at as the military hospital but it’s actually a separate building. It was still cold and snowing in Ottawa so I wasn’t looking forward to having to be out at 2am. I was also really busy at work but the only options may have been worse weather.  I really didn’t want to take UBER that late when it’s also freezing outside but there are only a few people I could ask to drive me at 2am on a weeknight. I am really grateful that I have some really great friends in Ottawa and my friend drove me and came inside with me.
