Is Air Canada Bulkhead Seat worth an $80 upgrade

Image
I took a flight from Ottawa to Vancouver. I could see from the seating map that the flight was fully booked. I usually pay to book a window seat and then try and get a seat with no one beside me at the last minute it works 50% of the time and the planes that I have been on leaving from Ottawa are not usually full. This time was different the airport was busier than I have ever seen it. I could tell from the seating map the plane was full. It cost $40 to book a window seat. I saw a last minute opening for a bulkhead window seat and decided to try it. It cost $80 to upgrade to the bulkhead seat but the $40 I already paid would get credited. I liked the idea of having a wall in front of me on such a packed flight.  I have free check in luggage with my credit card so I usually only take a backpack to leave under my seat on the plane. If I was in the back of the plane I wait until the last minute to board. I knew I would have no storage at my seat but this seat comes with early zone 3 b...

This is a catch-up series with what has been happening in my life post. It has been awhile since I have posted because things have been really busy. I have lots of exciting things I want to post about so hopefully I will be able to post more regularly in the future. Vancouver  Let’s go back about a year. My mom and I lived within walking distance of each other in Coquitlam which is in the Greater Vancouver area. We both thought we would never leave BC this had been our home for almost my whole life I never thought I would leave. This blog url even has Vancouver in it. Vancouver   It was still the middle of the pandemic. My brother had two small kids in Ottawa. My mom and I both met my nephew when he was two weeks old just before the pandemic. I visited Ottawa during the pandemic to meet my niece when she was 2 weeks old. My mom had never met her granddaughter as she was uncomfortable going on a holiday during the pandemic. My nephew was very confused on how I got out of t...

Vegan bucatini with soy curls, fresh tomatoes, and basil

Image
A couple months ago I moved from Vancouver to Ottawa. I will save the story for another post. After staying in a hotel for over a month I am finally in my own apartment. I am still getting settled but I was ready to cook a meal.  The area I moved to has everything in walking distance. The neighbourhood has so many good restaurants, shops, and cafes. The area also has a farmers market where I purchased the amazing looking basil and tomato’s. The olive oil is from a specialty oil store. The bottle I bought was from a brand new batch that was delivered today. The vegan cashew cheese was from a vegan festival that was held a few days ago. I bought these ingredients because I wanted to make pasta. I used to use my always pan often when I was in Vancouver I gave it to my aunt before moving. I bought a new set of the always pot and pan. When I only had the pan I always wished I had the pot for cooking pasta. My mom had given me some bucatini that she hadn’t used and I had some soy ...
