I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. Vegan Spicy Chick’n Sandwich from Pizza Pizza

I have been vegetarian for over thirty years and have not had the opportunity to try many chick’n sandwiches. I tried KFC vegetarian sandwich once and did not like it. I have never tried the KFC vegan sandwich. I have had some homemade chick’n sandwiches and a couple from food trucks. 

Pizza Pizza is a Canadian Pizza chain that is known for affordable pizza. When I heard they were going to offer two vegan chick’n sandwiches complete with vegan mayo I was excited. I never imagined that a Pizza chain would offer better vegan burger options than the burger fast food chain. Usually I have to order vegan burgers without mayo. 

The sandwich consists of a vegan golden bun, vegan mayo, Lightlife chick’n patty, and pickles. I ordered the spicy sandwich it cost around $8 including tax and watched them make my sandwich. They deep fried the patty which was coated in breading. They squeezed vegan spicy sauce on both sides of the bun added the patty and two pickles. 

I waited until I got home to try the sandwich I decided to try a bite before heating it up. I ate half the sandwich cold. It was so good. It is everything I imagine a fast food sandwich to be. This sandwich definitely satisfied my vegan fast food cravings.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once. Post Menopausal Bleeding MRI and results

 If you haven’t read my previous posts read part 1   Post Menopausal bleeding and Ultrasounds . It was getting long so I decided to start a new post. I got the call for an MRI at the end of March. It was scheduled for a couple days later at 2 am at Montford hospital. I only know about this hospital because I work for National Defence and we have offices there. I knew it at as the military hospital but it’s actually a separate building. It was still cold and snowing in Ottawa so I wasn’t looking forward to having to be out at 2am. I was also really busy at work but the only options may have been worse weather.  I really didn’t want to take UBER that late when it’s also freezing outside but there are only a few people I could ask to drive me at 2am on a weeknight. I am really grateful that I have some really great friends in Ottawa and my friend drove me and came inside with me.
