I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. Starbucks Apple Crisp Iced Coffee

There was a time when I drank a Starbucks almost daily. Over the last few years I transitioned to making coffee at home more. The last few months I no longer have to drink coffee daily and only drink it once in awhile as a treat. Sometimes you need a fall drink on a hot summer day to make you feel good. 

I knew the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte would be released today August 24. When I was looking to see what variation of drinks are available this year I found they now have Apple Crisp flavoured drinks this year.  I did some research to find out if it is vegan as far as I can tell from the ingredients it is vegan. I also read some reviews that said it’s good for people who find pumpkin spice too sweet. I do find the pumpkin spice to sweet. 

The reviews also said the hot version is better than the iced. It’s a really hot day so I went with the iced I also substituted coconut milk. I was looking forward to a spicy apple flavoured drink. The first sip had a really nice apple flavour. There is some sauce on the bottom of the cup so I mixed it. That gave it a bitter flavour. I think the hot version would be better because the flavours would mix better. 

This drink was okay and mostly because all the flavours are there but every sip tastes different. I probably won’t order the iced version again but I will try the hot version in the future.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. It is about seven months after the procedure now.  Where I live you stay overnight in the hospital for pain management they give you a self controlled morphine pump. There are other places where you will go home 4 hours after the procedure. I remember being in my room and people telling me they were going to put things in a locker I asked them to give me the ginger coconut water I had in the bag. I knew I wasn't going to be allowed to get up for hours nor did I feel like it I didn't realize that I wouldn't be allowed to get up all night because of the urinary catheter. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once. Post Menopausal Bleeding MRI and results

 If you haven’t read my previous posts read part 1   Post Menopausal bleeding and Ultrasounds . It was getting long so I decided to start a new post. I got the call for an MRI at the end of March. It was scheduled for a couple days later at 2 am at Montford hospital. I only know about this hospital because I work for National Defence and we have offices there. I knew it at as the military hospital but it’s actually a separate building. It was still cold and snowing in Ottawa so I wasn’t looking forward to having to be out at 2am. I was also really busy at work but the only options may have been worse weather.  I really didn’t want to take UBER that late when it’s also freezing outside but there are only a few people I could ask to drive me at 2am on a weeknight. I am really grateful that I have some really great friends in Ottawa and my friend drove me and came inside with me.
