I started writing this on the last day of the cruise and now I have been back for months so the post will change from in the cruise to after. In summary it was great and all four of us ranging in ages from 9-late 40’s want to go back. I bought a 24 hour internet package fot $35 so I can upload all my pictures and hopefully get this post done. I’m currently writing this while getting my hair done at the spa.  The cruise has been great but very busy. I’m having trouble staying awake. It’s now over a week later and I’m home. I had a plane fiasco where we sat on the runway for a few hours and then returned to the gate. How did I make money getting free stuff

Starbucks had a promotion earlier in the week if you bought a drink they would give you a free drink coupon for the weekend. That was the only thing that is technically buy 1 get one free in this haul everything else was free. I told my mom I was going to get my free drink before going to her house so she gave me a shopping list. 

There is a save on foods right next to Starbucks and my purse was full of free coupons. I have been getting a ton of tips on how to get coupons and cash back from Canadian deal finders on Instagram. Even the cashier commented that those were some good coupons. Save on foods is very easy with coupons great place to redeem all the free coupons and I had a great cashier. Save on points are also great in the past I have used them for free flights to Vegas.  

The almond milk coupon came from samplesource. Samplesource sends out boxes with free samples and coupons a couple times a year. They are very hard to get because you have to sign up the day they are released. The samples are so good there is a lot of competition to get them. I got lucky this year. I was holding on to the almond milk coupon because it doesn’t expire for a long time but I can’t resist free chocolate plant milk. 


The gnocchi coupon came from sampler. They have random surveys and samples so you have to keep checking your account and you might get sent random samples. I recently received a box that included the gnocchi coupon and tea bags samples . Also had a free juice coupon but it’s only valid at metro and Sobeys which I don’t have near me. My friend who is in a different province will get that. 

Now the best deal of all. I used a referral to download the Peekage app and got 1000 coins. Then I used 300 coins to get a coupon for free just egg folded. I uploaded the receipt to checkout 51 and got $1.50 cash back. You can use this link to get Peekage app. It looks like it had some fun things to do on it as well.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. 2025 Contest wins updated Oct 2025

Last year I started keeping track of the prizes I won. You can read that post here  2024 Contest Prize Wins . It is a great post to have for memories so I’m going to start a new post for 2025. Updated October 2025 It’s mid October and I already have four prizes to write about  Updated September 2025 I received two more prizes from the Coke contest that I won the prize pack from in August. The first item was the emoji cup.  It’s a thicker cup but I think it’s a plastic cup with a wiggly straw. Nice cup but it’s not dishwasher safe so I will probably give it away. I just went to look up the value and people are selling this for $25. Its value is $14.99.  The best part of this prize was learning exactly what those mysterious lockers are for. I’ve lived in my building for three years we have Canada Post lockers, and a package room but there are these other lockers. None of my neighbors knew what it was for. If you haven’t read my previous blog posts about fibroids and UFE this post will make more sense after reading these posts   Recovery Six months after UFE   Fibroids, Ultrasound, MRI, UFE during a Pandemic Since I don’t have any pictures to go along with this post enjoy the scenery pictures that are from Vancouver and Ottawa. I went into menopause in my forties after having uterine fibroid embolization for fibroids. I was loving menopause not worrying about bleeding was so great. All the symptoms I had except for a few were easier than dealing with fibroid periods. I went to Jamaica with my friend in April and she got hers on the trip and I was like I don’t miss those days.
