Vegan Eggnog Latte’s that were available in Ottawa December 2024

The world has been changing so rapidly. It is now March 2025 and I tried all the vegan eggnogs in December 2024. It is still snowing in Ottawa so it’s still winter. I don’t know if these businesses will still have the same drinks next year and thought about not posting this because it’s so late but I still want to showcase these businesses. They may not have eggnog latte’s anymore but they have other seasonal drinks.

The drink that inspired this post was a vegan eggnog latte from Les Moulins La Fayette Hintonburg. This is one of my favourite cafes in Ottawa they have amazing vegan sandwiches and even some vegan bakery items. Until I saw the sign outside last year I didn’t know they had vegan eggnog. I drank this drink for months last year it but I had forgotten about it. They use a house made syrup that I really enjoyed. Since getting a Nespresso frother I haven’t gone out for coffee as much as I used to. I was reminded about the latte from their Instagram post. I really looked forward to going and getting this latte again. The first try I was disappointed it wasn’t what I remembered. The signs also no longer indicated vegan. The drink is still vegan but I wondered why it wasn’t advertised the way it was last year. There was something off with the drink I had a choice of oat or almond milk. I don’t like oat so I chose almond. I believe last year I also had a different milk option I think soy. It was still a decent drink but it felt more commercial and different than before. I wondered if it was because it was an off day as it was the end of the day, the almond milk, or if they had started using different ingredients for this eggnog. This eggnog was the first one I had in this series so I wasn’t sure what the other ones were like. I decided to go back another day a week later and try it with oat milk. This time there were no signs indicating the eggnog latte was available. I wondered where the signs went but I asked and they still had it. It was still holiday season when I went. I tried it with oat milk and it was way better. I’m glad I gave it another chance. I think the first one I had was really just an off day. I won’t be drinking this as much as I did last year but I might get it again if they bring it back next year. They have many other vegan options so it’s a great place to go even if it is not for eggnog.

Littlejoberry’s is a well known vegan business in Ottawa. I go there all the time but I didn’t know they had eggnog until I was in-store and saw the sign. Out of all the eggnog’s I tried this was the only one that had whole spices in it. It was very good. The only issue I had was it was grainy because of the spices they stuck to the edge of the cup. It would have been much better if the spices were ground more or strained out. If you like spices this is a good one to try. If you don’t like spices they have other drinks without them it.

I almost forgot about PastelXCoco because I was so distracted by all the other vegan things there. It is a vegan bakery cafe in Gatineau. Although technically not in Ottawa it’s very close. I don’t go very often but I always love when I go there. The latte was good but I wished I had gotten it without whipped cream as there was a lot on there. They had lots of seasonal drinks and of course so many vegan things that you don’t get anywhere else. I think it’s time for me to go visit again.

I know Starbucks is controversial but it is a place that served vegan eggnog this year in Ottawa and in fairness I had to try it. They used Earth’sown as they still had the boxes out when I went there. It was very good even though I don’t normally like oat based drinks.

I did go and buy a box so I could make this at home. It was just as good. I had originally intended on comparing all the boxed eggnogs with the cafes but because this post is so behind I am going to end it here.
