A road trip Ottawa to Quebec City Day 1

 My friend visited from Vancouver at the same time a friend from Ottawa was going to Montreal to celebrate her birthday and foodie buddy was also going to be in Ottawa. I will call the first friend to arrive Van-friend she is Korean and really wanted to go to Quebec City because there is a Korean drama filmed at the fairmont there. I learned French in Trois-Rivières thirty years ago and I always said I would go back one day. This trip took a lot of planning but of course things never go as planned it was still a great trip just wished we had more time in each city. When we were looking to rent a car we were having trouble getting one and no trains were running to Quebec City on a Thursday. We decided to book a flight from Ottawa to Quebec City meet my friend in Montreal the next day stay the night and drive back to Ottawa in the afternoon.  Van friend flight came late on Wednesday night. 2017 Goal Reached Earned $1000 CDN from the internet and $1375 Goal for 2018

I am so excited that I actually accomplished this goal I have some previous posts on what apps and sites I used. As promised in the last post here is the breakdown on how I earned it.

I actually earned a little more but I lost $15 with Qricket. I am no longer a VIP member so I expect I will be able to earn something with Qricket in 2018. I am not stopping here the goal for 2018 is $1375. 

To be clear not all of this is cash some of it is in gift cards so here is the breakdown on how I chose to convert the earnings. 

Mturk - amazon.com credits converted to Whole Foods and Starbucks gift cards
Focus Groups - Were paid in cash
Swagbucks - Starbucks gift cards
EVA - paid by cheque
Prolific - paid by paypal
Ipsos I say - Starbucks gift cards
Pinecone - paid by paypal
Shoppers army - paid by cheque

I keep thinking about why I met this goal this year if you read this blog you know that I have been trying for three years. The reason is I could see results which kept me motivated. If something no longer worked I could change to something else. The reason I did much better with Mturk than last year is I joined a facebook group that is amazing and supportive. Keep working at your goals, finding new ways to achieve them and joining communities with the same goals one day you will achieve them. 

The tentative plan for 2018 with knowing that everything on the internet can change in a few weeks and the way to meet the goal may have to change.

Mturk - $750 CDN - this is possible if things stay at the current rate I am at $20 USD a week now
Prolific -$200 CDN - I joined in November and made $42 at a slow time of year
Swagbucks -$150 CDN - there is more potential in Swagbucks than I use 
Field Agent - $150 - the last half of 2017 was slow hopefully will get better again
Pinecone - $50 - There wasn't much work in 2017 
Other - $75 - I expect that I may not make the mturk goal and will have to supplement with other work so I am setting this low but know that there is a buffer in here. 

Goal for 2018 is $1375 Canadian Dollars

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. If you haven’t read my previous blog posts about fibroids and UFE this post will make more sense after reading these posts   Recovery Six months after UFE   Fibroids, Ultrasound, MRI, UFE during a Pandemic Since I don’t have any pictures to go along with this post enjoy the scenery pictures that are from Vancouver and Ottawa. I went into menopause in my forties after having uterine fibroid embolization for fibroids. I was loving menopause not worrying about bleeding was so great. All the symptoms I had except for a few were easier than dealing with fibroid periods. I went to Jamaica with my friend in April and she got hers on the trip and I was like I don’t miss those days. I enter and win a lot of contests but I always forget to keep track of what I win. This year I will keep updating this post as my prizes come in.  Update September 2024 - Contest win # 8 I won a $100 giftcard for St Laurent Mall from unstoppable mama on Instagram. I go to this mall a lot because it’s one of the easiest ones for me to get to in Ottawa. It’s a decent sized mall not too big and it doesn’t have a grocery store but has everything else that I would expect to be in a mall. I went after work to pick up the gift card from the administrative office it took me awhile to find it. As many times as I have been in the mall I never went to that area there is even a GoodLife Fitness there I had no idea. After being in a grey cubicle farm all day the mall office looked so nice I almost wanted to apply for a job there.
