On Saturday my mom, brother, and brother's girlfriend went out for lunch to have an early celebration of my brothers girlfriends birthday. We went to Heirloom restaurant which is a place I have wanted to try for a long time. It had a vegetarian and a vegan menu there was a 20 minute wait to get a table and this was on Saturday at lunch time. I had a primo Benedict which was good but wasn't anything different than what I get in other places except it had guacamole and salsa instead of meat. My brother and my mom both wanted soup but they had just ran out and it would take them an hour to make a new one at least we know their food is fresh. My brother had a salad with a side of field sausage his salad was huge and had lots of mushrooms it was good. My mom had quinoa nut fritters and a pancake the fritters were exactly like something my mom would make tasted like a lentil fritter but it was good. The pancake was a buckwheat pancake it was okay. My brother's girlfriend has the hash it was very pretty. I did have a ginger mocktail that was really good it was ginger, lemon, and soda, garnish was candied ginger it tasted really refreshing. I thought the food was good but other than the drink there was nothing that I really couldn't get anywhere else and it was a little on the expensive side but huge portions. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go there again but if I was in the area I might go again.

In continuation of my last blog post I was able to cash my mturk earnings to a whole foods e-gift card so I had to take a trip to whole foods to make sure the card was valid. I got some groceries and tried a sample of coconut ice cream and Belgian chocolate. They have so much variety on their hot food and some of it looked really good. I got some roasted veggies, Caribbean potatoes because they smelled really good, and Hawaiian coconut tofu which was I guess marinated in coconut and then deep fried. The tofu was pretty good the pieces were giant so one filled me up right away I shouldn't have bought two. I had intended to take my food to go but I was hungry and it was convenient to eat it there I forgot to take pictures maybe next time. I was pleasantly surprised when my $25 USD gift card converted to $33 CDN I had no problem using this and will continue to try and earn money on mturk now that I have a way to cash out. Last week I made about $10 on mturk there wasn't as much work available this week I got lucky one day as there were two high paying surveys that I completed and got $9 from that this week I have made about $12 again one good survey day so far and that's it.
I got an invitation to a focus group on Sunday and got paid $75 for less than two hours of work. I really don't consider focus groups that much work other than sometimes the locations are hard to get to. Focus groups usually pay great the ones I have done in the past are usually at $50 an hour so this one was slightly lower pay but it was also on a sunday. I have been invited through one of the survey companies that I do surveys for the one I did on Sunday was organized by EVA. I was a little hesitant in the past to go to some strange place to be locked in a room with strangers all the ones I have done has been a positive experience. It is difficult if you are nervous speaking in front of strangers I was very shy when I was younger but I have had so much experience in my work life speaking that it doesn't bother me anymore. I actually enjoy having people listen to my opinions and meeting new people and the best part is leaving with an envelope full of cash. This weekend was good for internet earnings between the focus group,field agent, and mturk I made over $100. I also received the cheque from beachbody for completing the health bet it was nice to get a USD cheque for that I am hoping these kinds of weekends will be more frequent and I will get to my goal of $1000 by the end of the year.
