Day 5 Jamaica Trip April 2024

 Today my friends aunt was coming to pick us up at 10. I went for breakfast at 9:30. My friend was there earlier and she got some plantains today but they weren’t very ripe. Breakfast was the same as yesterday for me so I didn’t take any pictures. In the morning I did call for some bottles of water to my room but it was too early I learned I could get some at the buffet.  My friends aunt was delayed so had time to sit at the coffee shop. This was the view from the coffee area. We chatted with security and the taxi driver at the hotel for awhile before we left. We didn’t leave the hotel until 12. My friends aunt got proper plantains we ate it in the car. Today we decided to go to Ocho Rios. I have never been there and it is not that far from where we are staying. We have a driver booked for tomorrow to take us around the area and Bob Marley house tour. My friends aunt wanted Pizza Hut we stopped in a plaza that had KFC, Starbucks, and Pizza Hut. Starbucks Apple Crisp Iced Coffee

There was a time when I drank a Starbucks almost daily. Over the last few years I transitioned to making coffee at home more. The last few months I no longer have to drink coffee daily and only drink it once in awhile as a treat. Sometimes you need a fall drink on a hot summer day to make you feel good. 

I knew the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte would be released today August 24. When I was looking to see what variation of drinks are available this year I found they now have Apple Crisp flavoured drinks this year.  I did some research to find out if it is vegan as far as I can tell from the ingredients it is vegan. I also read some reviews that said it’s good for people who find pumpkin spice too sweet. I do find the pumpkin spice to sweet. 

The reviews also said the hot version is better than the iced. It’s a really hot day so I went with the iced I also substituted coconut milk. I was looking forward to a spicy apple flavoured drink. The first sip had a really nice apple flavour. There is some sauce on the bottom of the cup so I mixed it. That gave it a bitter flavour. I think the hot version would be better because the flavours would mix better. 

This drink was okay and mostly because all the flavours are there but every sip tastes different. I probably won’t order the iced version again but I will try the hot version in the future.

Fibroids, Ultrasound, MRI and UFE during a pandemic

This has been a two year journey so far I am not sure why I have been procrastinating on writing this. I think it’s very important to that woman talk about their experiences. I did not know what fibroids were until I was diagnosed with them.   I went to my doctor one day because it had been a few months since I had a period. Previous to that I was getting them every 2-4 weeks. There was no chance that I was pregnant and I had started a job where I was the only female in the office. In the past my cycle was influenced by other woman. I was not around any so I originally thought it was normal then I wondered if I was going into early menopause. I was in my forties and started my period when I was 10.  My doctor assured me that because I have hypothyroidism and low iron irregular cycles are normal. In June I knew I was going to Vancouver from Ottawa and if you know me I can’t buy anything unless it’s on sale. If you are new to my blog I lived in Vancouver almost my whole life and last year I moved to Ottawa so I go to Vancouver frequently to visit friends and relatives.
