Vegan weekend adventures in Ottawa fall 2023

Image
The fall season in Ottawa is a few weeks so you have to enjoy it. This summer was mostly rainy but it was heat wave weather at the end September straight to the colder windy days of October. If you are new to my blog I have lived most of my life in Vancouver and moved to Ottawa last year. I moved to Ottawa with my mom and last fall was dealing with her pancreatic cancer so I didn’t have time to enjoy Ottawa fall things. My mom passed away last October and this year I didn’t have many commitments which left me time to explore the Ottawa beauty and vegan food.  There really isn’t enough time to explore everything and work there is always something going on. I have also gone from not having much of a social life to having to vegan friends in the last couple of months. The beauty of Ottawa is it really is a big city small town at least in the vegan market community. First day Jamaica trip Apr2023 -part 1

My trip started out by taking the train from Ottawa to Toronto and staying a few days with relatives. I really enjoyed my time in Toronto and did not blog. My best friend from Vancouver is Jamaican. We decided to go on a trip together as we could both get time off work. We have been to Jamaica together seven years ago and it was really interesting to see how it has changed. My friend and I do not have the same travel style. I have travelled a lot prepandemic with my parents that have now passed. My friend has not been to many places outside of North America her travel style is to be on the go nonstop and mine is to get some relaxation in. There was a lot of planning that went into this trip especially with us living in different provinces now. I am so thankful that I reconnected with one of my highschool friends who is now my permanent travel agent. She did a fantastic job dealing with all the issues and highly recommend her if you need a travel agent here is her link  https://www.trav

Ottawa is interesting it goes from no events until May and then so many things all at once. The last two weekends I have had no plans but all the little events kept me busy. Today’s post is only about bigger events I saw on Saturday but there were also lots of small things and other big events all over.  This weekend I knew doors open Ottawa was happening and I asked my coworkers which buildings to go to. Most of the people that I asked who are from Ottawa or Quebec didn’t know what it was. I asked a few more people and got some suggestions but I didn’t have time to research where to go. I have only been in Ottawa for a year and think it’s great that there are so many interesting buildings here. Now it is Sunday afternoon and I only made it to one building so I also understand when you live somewhere
