Vancouver and Bowen Island trip October 2024 - lots of vegan food

Image
This post will mostly be about the vegan food I ate on my last Vancouver trip. My main purpose of this trip was to visit older relatives but there was a secondary purpose of visiting my mom’s grave for the first time.  I left from Ottawa airport in the evening but I hadn’t eaten much that day. I usually don’t get food on planes but I was hungry and they had a vegan wrap. It was good. You can read about my flight experience here   Is AirCanada bulkhead seat worth an $80 Flights from Ottawa usually arrive in Vancouver in the evening. Before exiting the gates there is a cafe that has to live for treats. Rebel cookies were on sale at the store. There is very little vegan food around my hotel so I stocked up for the week. After getting luggage there is a 7-11 in the airport to get some essentials for the trip. First day Jamaica trip Apr2023 -part 1

Image
My trip started out by taking the train from Ottawa to Toronto and staying a few days with relatives. I really enjoyed my time in Toronto and did not blog. My best friend from Vancouver is Jamaican. We decided to go on a trip together as we could both get time off work. We have been to Jamaica together seven years ago and it was really interesting to see how it has changed. My friend and I do not have the same travel style. I have travelled a lot prepandemic with my parents that have now passed. My friend has not been to many places outside of North America her travel style is to be on the go nonstop and mine is to get some relaxation in. There was a lot of planning that went into this trip especially with us living in different provinces now. I am so thankful that I reconnected with one of my highschool friends who is now my permanent travel agent. She did a fantastic job dealing with all the issues and highly recommend her if you need a travel agent here is her link  https://www....

It was only Saturday afternoon when I started writing this blog is so much to do in this city. I felt like I had already done so much now it is Saturday evening and it has been a full day. Ottawa is interesting it goes from no events until May and then so many things all at once. The last two weekends I have had no plans but all the little events kept me busy. Today’s post is only about bigger events I saw on Saturday but there were also lots of small things and other big events all over.  This weekend I knew doors open Ottawa was happening and I asked my coworkers which buildings to go to. Most of the people that I asked who are from Ottawa or Quebec didn’t know what it was. I asked a few more people and got some suggestions but I didn’t have time to research where to go. I have only been in Ottawa for a year and think it’s great that there are so many interesting buildings here. Now it is Sunday afternoon and I only made it to one building so I also understand when you live somew...
