2024 Contest Wins

Image
I enter and win a lot of contests but I always forget to track how much I win. This year I am going to have a blog post and keep updating it as I win.  Contest win #3 was a medium mixed produce box from OddbunchCanada. Until this contest i didn’t know much about OddbunchCanada . I can’t believe they are selling a produce box of this size and quality for only $32 plus $4 delivery. It is a lot more produce than I was expecting to get and it’s very good quality. Last week during a trip to Montreal I May have complained that I needed to eat some vegetables after all the croissants and sweets that problem is solved. I will likely order a small box $20 from OddbunchCanada in the future.  Total Value of Prizes so far March 2024 $131 Contest win #2 for 2024 was a Queen Cake from  Strawberry Blonde Bakery . A very yummy vegan cake. I packed some up to share with my friends. I’m not sure what this cake is valued at but cakes range from $44-100 on the website. I will go with a conservative $50.

Finish Dishwasher cleaner - November 14

Image
Before using Finish Dishwasher cleaner in my dishwasher I have had this dishwasher for over 5 years and have never used a cleaner it. The most I have done is once in a while ran a vinegar soaked sponge through it. My dishes are starting to come out streaked and Shopper's army has given me this to try out for free.  I only went to one store to buy it which was Walmart hard to find as it was way up on the shelf but shout out to the wal-mart employee who noticed I was not tall enough to reach that high shelf and got it down for me. Here are a few before pictures these dishes are clean its hard to see on camera but there are some streaks in them. let's see if the yellow gets cleaned clean dishes before dishwasher cleaner inside of the cup that will be washed again after cleaning ready to clean the dishwasher AFTER You can tell this did something as it is in a different location than where it started but did it work? I can't tell so I don't think so

Hon's Wun Tun House Hot and Sour Soup (Vegetarian requested)

Image
I have a cold and wanted the perfect vegetarian soup just a little bit spicy to clear the sinuses but not insanely hot. Yes I have a soup maker and do make soup myself all the time but sometimes its better if someone else makes it for you. There aren't too many places where I would go to eat soup in my neighbourhood its hard to find good vegetarian options and I can make really good soup in less than 25 minutes in my soup maker. Then I remembered Hon's used to have a hot and sour vegetarian soup. Hon's is a chinese noodle house that has been in Vancouver for over 35 years. There are 5 locations in the lower mainland and there is one that is walking distance from where I live. I went to the take out desk and looked at the menu none of the soup was vegetarian. The hot and sour said it had diced seafood in it so I was getting disappointed but I asked and yes they can still make it vegetarian. The cashier asked if I wanted a small or large I said small. This cost $6.25 and I g

High Roller Las Vegas

Image
I had bought a groupon for the VIP car on the highroller in Vegas. The highroller is one of the new attractions in Vegas they call it the world's largest observation wheel its like a nice ferris wheel. The ride is 30 minutes overlooking the Vegas strip. The VIP car's have private bars on them and there is an option to go during the day or at night. We were staying at the Linq and the high roller is connected with the hotel so it was a short walk away. I don't drink but I preferred to be in a private car away from kids and my companion was capable of drinking enough for two people. We chose the night as that is the best time to see vegas. There wasn't a line up at all when we went it was around 11 pm and they gave us some coupons for the brooklyn bowl and the souvenir shop but we didn't use those. There were only 4 people in our car. Our bar tender was very nice but he was bored the drinks were unlimited but there is only so much to do when you only have to serve a

Poo Bun - Richmond Night Market - September 26, 2015

Image
If you have never been to the Richmond Night Market there are many food stalls and various food items along with the very normal asian style items but the dessert items seem to have a lot of interesting shapes. Walking down the food stall I thought does that sign really say poo bun and what is a poo bun. My friend yes I saw it before the bun is shaped like a turd and it served with condensed milk. Left it at that but after roaming and looking at the price of mini donuts $12. We decided that this 3 buns for $5 would be a good thing to try. I asked if the condensed milk was inside she said they serve it on top and told me that they were made from whole wheat. We waiting a few minutes for our freshly fried 3 buns  covered in condensed milk there was three of us so one each. They were delicious super hot I would have liked ice cream with it. The most entertaining part though was that we spent an hour making jokes about how we had eaten "sh..: and poo shaped buns which was worth way m

Carniveno - Restaurant by Mario Batalli

Carnevino is in the Venetian in Vegas. We were actually on our way out going to another hotel restaurant but were hungry and checked out the menu and decided to stay. I am so glad we did. First the host asks about any dietary restrictions told her we were vegetarian and she put it in the computer. The server came over to explain the menu first thing he suggested we try the meat special so the message about vegetarian didn't get to him. Once I told him he explained every vegetarian item on the menu. The menu is organized in sections salad, pasta, meats, and you get sides for veggies. He said the pasta was the side of a bread plate. When I asked about the ravioli he said it was just one ravioli and swayed me away from it. So I went with a pasta made with mint and eggplant, and order the crispy cauliflower on the side. My companion ordered a cream pasta and a side of fries. They also had an extensive wine list ranging up to 30K in price. My companion liked her cheaper glass of wine.

The linq hotel Vegas

My next few posts will be about my most recent Vegas trip which was a few weeks ago. I have been to Vegas many times and I now prefer staying off the strip at South Point. This time I went with a 21 year old so decided to stay on in the center of strip so she could have her full legal Vegas experience. As we were on a budget I was able to get us a rate of $28 per night through my total rewards account for the Linq hotel  plus $25 resort fee that most Vegas hotel have no. I was hesitant as even the regular price was at $60 per night so low for a mid strip hotel and the reviews were varied but it is a Ceasar's property and I am never in my room in Vegas so I only care about having a clean bed and shower. As soon I booked i got an e-mail with the confirmation and info about the hotel and follow up e-mails later about online check in. I had written to the hotel to ask about doing something special and the reason of the trip they obviously didn't read what I had sent them but they

Swagbucks and referral offer

This is my favorite site for earning gift cards. I don't use all the features I use it as my search engine which gets me points sometimes and I enter  swag codes sometimes. I earn enough points to get me starbucks gift cards every couple of months. They have many options for gift cards in Canada.   I am sure if I used all the features play games, watch videos, shopping offers,  surveys, coupons etc it would be very easy to earn enough points to cash out $100 value each month . This is what I love about it there are lots of options and you don't have to commit to anything. I use it whenever I feel like and if I am doing something anyways like searching I earn points on it. Right now they have a referral offer whoever signs up using the referral link and earns 300 points in June will get an additional 300 points which is equivalent to $3. www.swagbucks.com/refer/Isha21

Lush birthdaycake facemask

Image
This facemask has chocolate in it that's why I chose it it smells really good. I saw this display on ice which is what brought me into the store to look at it. There were a few bowls of the different facemasks. I told the sales lady I wanted one and she got a tub out of the fridge told me I needed to store it in the fridge because there are fresh ingredients in. She told me to put it on leave it for 10 minutes and wash it off with hot water. The actual tub has the same instructions on it and there is an expiry date on it last for about two weeks. The pot says it is chocolate heaven for oily skin. Cupcake calms with cocoa powder and sandwood. The tub has enough for 2-3 masks. I think it cost around $7 I don't remember the exact price. I put it on my face and it felt really fresh it was easy to spread on kind of like my face was a cupcake and I was spreading frosting on it. It felt really good the 10 minutes it was on and it tightened up. It didn't come off with just hot wat

Minoo Bakery Coquitlam

Image
Minoo is a persian bakery in coquitlam. They have really good cookies that are filled with nuts and have different flavours. You purchase things based on weight I believe its $3 or $4 per pound so you can buy whatever assortment you want. I bought a box to take to a party and got a mixture of the sweet persian cookies which are like a light shortbread with different nuts, flavourings some with chocolate some with things like orange or cocunut.  Today they had turkish cookies. They are like a cookie but more on the savory side kind of a cross between a pretzel and a shortbread cookie. I really like one that had some chili spice on it, it started out kind of sweet but then had a kick to it. All the cookies are freshly made taste great and look pretty.

PInecone Research Review

Pinecone Research has become my favourite site to complete surveys. The surveys pay $3 each but they only take around 15 minutes and I enjoy competing the ones they send sometimes they also send products to test and another $3 survey to go with it. This survey site is different than the other in that you qualify for every survey that is sent to you and you don't have to fill in extra questions to see if you do qualify. I have only been getting on average 3 surveys a week but that spare cash does add up. It is also low cash out and you can cash out when you have $3 so after one survey and the cash out options are paypal, cheque, or rewards. I have only requested cheques so far but I usually receive them in a few days after I request them. There are a few negatives one it seems like there is only one person in customer service I had e-mailed a question and I received a generic answer that didn't address my question .I originally thought the payments would be $3 US but they are $
