I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. Hon's Wun Tun House Hot and Sour Soup (Vegetarian requested)

I have a cold and wanted the perfect vegetarian soup just a little bit spicy to clear the sinuses but not insanely hot. Yes I have a soup maker and do make soup myself all the time but sometimes its better if someone else makes it for you. There aren't too many places where I would go to eat soup in my neighbourhood its hard to find good vegetarian options and I can make really good soup in less than 25 minutes in my soup maker. Then I remembered Hon's used to have a hot and sour vegetarian soup. Hon's is a chinese noodle house that has been in Vancouver for over 35 years. There are 5 locations in the lower mainland and there is one that is walking distance from where I live. I went to the take out desk and looked at the menu none of the soup was vegetarian. The hot and sour said it had diced seafood in it so I was getting disappointed but I asked and yes they can still make it vegetarian. The cashier asked if I wanted a small or large I said small. This cost $6.25 and I got a 10% discount for paying cash. I knew the small would be big I got 4 bowls the size of the picture out of it. This is the perfect combination for me it is just spicy enough to open up my sinus, has tofu for my vegetarian protein and some other veggies and it tastes really good its a little bowl of comfort and made me feel better.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. It is about seven months after the procedure now.  Where I live you stay overnight in the hospital for pain management they give you a self controlled morphine pump. There are other places where you will go home 4 hours after the procedure. I remember being in my room and people telling me they were going to put things in a locker I asked them to give me the ginger coconut water I had in the bag. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once. Post Menopausal Bleeding MRI and results

 If you haven’t read my previous posts read part 1   Post Menopausal bleeding and Ultrasounds . It was getting long so I decided to start a new post. I got the call for an MRI at the end of March. It was scheduled for a couple days later at 2 am at Montford hospital. I only know about this hospital because I work for National Defence and we have offices there. I knew it at as the military hospital but it’s actually a separate building. It was still cold and snowing in Ottawa so I wasn’t looking forward to having to be out at 2am. I was also really busy at work but the only options may have been worse weather.  I really didn’t want to take UBER that late when it’s also freezing outside but there are only a few people I could ask to drive me at 2am on a weeknight. I am really grateful that I have some really great friends in Ottawa and my friend drove me and came inside with me.
