2024 Contest Wins

Image
I enter and win a lot of contests but I always forget to track how much I win. This year I am going to have a blog post and keep updating it as I win.  Contest win #3 was a medium mixed produce box from OddbunchCanada. Until this contest i didn’t know much about OddbunchCanada . I can’t believe they are selling a produce box of this size and quality for only $32 plus $4 delivery. It is a lot more produce than I was expecting to get and it’s very good quality. Last week during a trip to Montreal I May have complained that I needed to eat some vegetables after all the croissants and sweets that problem is solved. I will likely order a small box $20 from OddbunchCanada in the future.  Total Value of Prizes so far March 2024 $131 Contest win #2 for 2024 was a Queen Cake from  Strawberry Blonde Bakery . A very yummy vegan cake. I packed some up to share with my friends. I’m not sure what this cake is valued at but cakes range from $44-100 on the website. I will go with a conservative $50.

Better Forking vegan Mac and cheese review

I found better forking Vegan Mac and cheese at Home Sense. It was $4.99 The ingredients are simple slightly different than other Mac and Cheese as it has potato and coconut flour in it. The instructions say to cook the pasta for 7-8 minutes but I found mine took 10 to cook.  I don’t always follow instructions when I cook but I am trying to have the same comparisons for all my mac and cheese reviews. Usually the instructions will say to make the sauce by adding vegan butter, plant milk, and cheese packet then add the pasta. The steps were slightly different on the box drain the pasta and quickly put it back in the pan. Add the butter stir. Add the powder stir. Add the plant milk stir. Then let sit for a couple minutes. I tried the pasta with seasoning before I added the milk and I really liked it. It tasted like nacho cheese powder. When I added the milk the taste changed it may be because I only had almond milk it’s not bad though. I added some parmela creamy vegan cheese and really li

A beautiful spring weekend in Ottawa

Image
This is my first spring in Ottawa and it’s so beautiful especially after the long winter. It’s only Saturday afternoon but I have already done so much this weekend I had to blog about it.  t actually started on my lunch break on Friday. I like to say my office is in the middle of nowhere and it really is. It is a twenty minute walk to Tim Hortons that is the only thing around. I have been in this office since January and most of the area was covered in snow for months. Now that the snow is gone I noticed a trail path near the office. I was surprised it was all paved with no one around. I was scared to go in it at first thinking it was just trees, bugs, and maybe homeless people. There was nothing no one no animals just a beautiful path that leads to the beautiful parking lot of my office. The beauty was hidden under lots of snow in the winter. I am amazed at how vibrant everything is after being covered in all that snow for months.  At the end there was someone eating their lunch proba
