Vegan weekend adventures in Ottawa fall 2023

Image
The fall season in Ottawa is a few weeks so you have to enjoy it. This summer was mostly rainy but it was heat wave weather at the end September straight to the colder windy days of October. If you are new to my blog I have lived most of my life in Vancouver and moved to Ottawa last year. I moved to Ottawa with my mom and last fall was dealing with her pancreatic cancer so I didn’t have time to enjoy Ottawa fall things. My mom passed away last October and this year I didn’t have many commitments which left me time to explore the Ottawa beauty and vegan food.  There really isn’t enough time to explore everything and work there is always something going on. I have also gone from not having much of a social life to having to vegan friends in the last couple of months. The beauty of Ottawa is it really is a big city small town at least in the vegan market community. Hotpotatoco one of the vendors at the market introduced me to one of my vegan friends that will be known as the other vegan g

Better Forking vegan Mac and cheese review

I found better forking Vegan Mac and cheese at Home Sense. It was $4.99 The ingredients are simple slightly different than other Mac and Cheese as it has potato and coconut flour in it. The instructions say to cook the pasta for 7-8 minutes but I found mine took 10 to cook.  I don’t always follow instructions when I cook but I am trying to have the same comparisons for all my mac and cheese reviews. I tried the pasta with seasoning before I added the milk and I really liked it. It tasted like nacho cheese powder. When I added the milk the taste changed it may be because I only had almond milk it’s not bad though. I added some parmela creamy vegan cheese and really li

It’s only Saturday afternoon but I have already done so much this weekend I had to blog about it.  t actually started on my lunch break on Friday. I like to say my office is in the middle of nowhere and it really is. It is a twenty minute walk to Tim Hortons that is the only thing around. I have been in this office since January and most of the area was covered in snow for months. Now that the snow is gone I noticed a trail path near the office. I was surprised it was all paved with no one around. I was scared to go in it at first thinking it was just trees, bugs, and maybe homeless people. There was nothing no one no animals just a beautiful path that leads to the beautiful parking lot of my office. The beauty was hidden under lots of snow in the winter. I am amazed at how vibrant everything is after being covered in all that snow for months.  At the end there was someone eating their lunch proba
