Day 2 Jamaica trip 2024

Image
I’m writing this post a few weeks after returning to Ottawa but the next few days I wrote while I was in Jamaica. It was a very busy trip but this was a day I got to stay at the resort. Jewel Paradise Cove while my friend figured out our plans for the remainder of the week.  The resort posts the activity schedule on the app, on tv’s in the room, and on a screen in the lobby. I had seen that there was a resort tour at 11:00. I have stayed in many resorts and it usually the company that you booked with doing these tours. I liked that there was no need to wait for a specific tour rep and the hotel was doing this. My friend was out up and early for the garden tour. I slept in and went for breakfast at 10:30. I wanted my friend to come in the hotel tour with me because I have no sense of direction but we later discovered we weren’t getting each others text messages and I thought she was still on the garden tour.  I had received my friends text that she was disappointed there were no plantai

Better Forking vegan Mac and cheese review

I found better forking Vegan Mac and cheese at Home Sense. It was $4.99 The ingredients are simple slightly different than other Mac and Cheese as it has potato and coconut flour in it. The instructions say to cook the pasta for 7-8 minutes but I found mine took 10 to cook.  I don’t always follow instructions when I cook but I am trying to have the same comparisons for all my mac and cheese reviews. Usually the instructions will say to make the sauce by adding vegan butter, plant milk, and cheese packet then add the pasta. The steps were slightly different on the box drain the pasta and quickly put it back in the pan. Add the butter stir. Add the powder stir. Add the plant milk stir. Then let sit for a couple minutes. I tried the pasta with seasoning before I added the milk and I really liked it. It tasted like nacho cheese powder. When I added the milk the taste changed it may be because I only had almond milk it’s not bad though. I added some parmela creamy vegan cheese and really li

Update 2024: A beautiful spring weekend in Ottawa

It’s now May 2024 one year after I wrote this post thought it would be fun to compare to last year. A lot of things I did in the last week were similar to last year. I wasn’t feeling great on the weekend so there was more staying home. Today the holiday Monday was busy I babysat my brothers kids, then took the LRT to the mall and byward market it is one of the few things open on a holiday here. I’m ending the night sitting on my building’s rooftop and I can see fireworks from different directions but not high enough for me to get a good picture of. The sky is beautiful though. The rest of the post I will write below each section from last year. This is my first spring in Ottawa and it’s so beautiful especially after the long winter. It’s only Saturday afternoon but I have already done so much this weekend I had to blog about it.  t actually started on my lunch break on Friday. I like to say my office is in the middle of nowhere and it really is. It is a twenty minute walk to Tim Horton
