I tried all the vegan soft serve in Ottawa

I tried all the vegan soft serve in Ottawa. I probably missed a few but I did try a lot of them. I have lived in Ottawa for two years and I was still transitioning from vegetarian to vegan when I moved here. I don’t remember having a lot of soft serve in Vancouver when I did eat dairy. I only remember having it at McDonald’s and buffets. I didn’t even know vegan soft serve was a thing until I moved to Ottawa. I tried six places The Merry Dairy, Oddburger, Little Jo Berry’s, Chocolate Favouris, IKEA, PastelXCoco, and 2 bonuses dole whip from Cinnaholic and the plant based dilly bar from Dairy Queen. I also went to Mavericks but they have been having supply issues and the soft serve is currently not vegan. Let me know if I missed any and maybe I’ll update the post in the future.  The Merry Dairy was the first vegan soft serve I had in Ottawa. I remember thinking I had to wait in line to get into the store only to learn soft serve was at the truck with no line. I was super excited that I

The linq hotel Vegas

My next few posts will be about my most recent Vegas trip which was a few weeks ago. I have been to Vegas many times and I now prefer staying off the strip at South Point. This time I went with a 21 year old so decided to stay on in the center of strip so she could have her full legal Vegas experience. As we were on a budget I was able to get us a rate of $28 per night through my total rewards account for the Linq hotel  plus $25 resort fee that most Vegas hotel have no. I was hesitant as even the regular price was at $60 per night so low for a mid strip hotel and the reviews were varied but it is a Ceasar's property and I am never in my room in Vegas so I only care about having a clean bed and shower. As soon I booked i got an e-mail with the confirmation and info about the hotel and follow up e-mails later about online check in. I had written to the hotel to ask about doing something special and the reason of the trip they obviously didn't read what I had sent them but they did respond with menu's of things I could have delivered to the room for my significant other. If they had read what I sent them they would know I wasn't going with a significant other. I was impressed though that I got an answer even if it was standard. We spent very little time in the hotel but it was great. the air quality was great usually Vegas hotels are smoky even the higher end ones this one had a really good filter and no smoke odour.  The location was great with the Linq  stores and restaurants right outside so nice to be in fresh air and caesars palace right across the street. We were able to walk to almost every location on the strip we wanted to go to as we were so central. The room was well designed it felt large felt a lot bigger than what it was. The beds were extremely comfortable. The shower has dispensors for shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Our room was clean but we were missing some things like soap in the dispenser etc. We left a note for housekeeping with the list of things it was long list we didn't expect them to provide everything we asked for but they did. The next day the free bottled water in the room and some other things weren't refilled so left a note to leave us things again and everything was left again. We didn't eat in the hotel but Guy Fieri's restaurant is there and the wake up call was him telling you to get up and go to the restaurant. There is also a cartoon character on the mirror in the room if you look closely its him not sure what kind of investment he has in this hotel. I would recommend this hotel great value for the price.  I suspect now that the construction is complete that the prices and the ratings of the The linq hotel are going to increase in the future.
