Carnevino is in the Venetian in Vegas. We were actually on our way out going to another hotel restaurant but were hungry and checked out the menu and decided to stay. I am so glad we did. First the host asks about any dietary restrictions told her we were vegetarian and she put it in the computer. The server came over to explain the menu first thing he suggested we try the meat special so the message about vegetarian didn't get to him. Once I told him he explained every vegetarian item on the menu. The menu is organized in sections salad, pasta, meats, and you get sides for veggies. He said the pasta was the side of a bread plate. When I asked about the ravioli he said it was just one ravioli and swayed me away from it. So I went with a pasta made with mint and eggplant, and order the crispy cauliflower on the side. My companion ordered a cream pasta and a side of fries. They also had an extensive wine list ranging up to 30K in price. My companion liked her cheaper glass of wine. I asked them for a virgin cocktail and to surprise me they did. I don't know what was in it but I really liked it, it tasted like there was homemade ginerale in it. After ordering I went to the bathroom so another person gave me a tour with directions on how to get to the bathroom past the wine room which was amazing then past the banquet room.I came back my companion said i was breathless I was in awe on how beautiful that room was. The restaurant was nice but that room was something else. They had brought fried balls to the table I think they were cheese, and I think bread as well I don't remember but I remember the butter being really good. The service was fast then the food came the pasta was a huge bowl of pasta like a dinner size not the bread plate size the server had suggested I forgot I was in america with their huge portions. The pasta was good lots of fresh veggies in mine. The sides were another huge portion the cauliflower was lemony but it was something that since I was stuffed I didn't eat much of, the fries were also more roasted potatoes so weren't eaten either. We decided it was our last night there so to end with tiramisu for dessert that was also very good. What I noticed about this restaurant was there is equal attentiveness to service and food which is so rare that the combination of both is achieved successfully. I was expecting the bill to be quite high considering how much we ate and how luxurious the atmosphere was but the bill was roughly $100 which for dinner in Vegas for the amount of food we ate was actually a good deal. This is my new favourite restaurant in Vegas and really love that all though the name is Carnevino I am a non meat eating non wine drinking person and still love it.
