I tried all the vegan soft serve in Ottawa

I tried all the vegan soft serve in Ottawa. I probably missed a few but I did try a lot of them. I have lived in Ottawa for two years and I was still transitioning from vegetarian to vegan when I moved here. I don’t remember having a lot of soft serve in Vancouver when I did eat dairy. I only remember having it at McDonald’s and buffets. I didn’t even know vegan soft serve was a thing until I moved to Ottawa. I tried six places The Merry Dairy, Oddburger, Little Jo Berry’s, Chocolate Favouris, IKEA, PastelXCoco, and 2 bonuses dole whip from Cinnaholic and the plant based dilly bar from Dairy Queen. I also went to Mavericks but they have been having supply issues and the soft serve is currently not vegan. Let me know if I missed any and maybe I’ll update the post in the future.  The Merry Dairy was the first vegan soft serve I had in Ottawa. I remember thinking I had to wait in line to get into the store only to learn soft serve was at the truck with no line. I was super excited that I

New skytrain, Soup, and Shaun T live workouts

The new evergreen or millenium skytrain extension which connects coquitlam to other skytrain lines in Vancouver is finally open. This has been in the works for around 30 years. I live in coquitlam for me the new line is great. The trains are only two cars compared to much longer ones on the other trains so they run more frequently. The ride to the connecting skytrain is only 15 minutes and this used to take over half an hour by expres bus. I am going to save at least half an hour each way on my commute and no more worries of not making connecting buses or missing the commuter train. It is also going to be a lot easier to get around coquitlam some areas that required long walks from bus stops before now have central skytrain stations. The new stations are very nice they have electronic boards telling you how long until the next train today on a saturday I got off at a few differnt stations and my wait was never longer than 2 minutes. I always worry that something is going to go wrong when new technology is introduced but so far the new trains are running smoothly and everyone is happy. Tomorrow is really the first day of a work week they will be running so hopefully things stay as smooth as they have been this weekend.

This week Shaun T was doing live work outs and he is my favourite trainer. I have beach body on demand and there is no way I would even press play on anything called insanity if Shaun T wasn't doing it. I love short workouts I can never motivate myself to go past 30 minutes so love that insanity max 30 is all 30 minute workouts. Day 1 loved it watching Shaun T die doing his own workout somehow motivates me more I had the workout on my computer while watching Shaun T on my phone. I maxed out at 8 minutes insanity max is about going until you need a break taking a break to write down your time and then getting back into it. I missed day 2. Day 3 I decided that I should workout in the morning as less chance of missing it I maxed out at 6 minutes and stopped half way I am a night person by body isn't ready in the morning, thought I will finish it in the evening. Evening came and went thought maybe another try in the morning and I pressed snooze when morning came. That was it for the live workout. I did do another one on my own so far and I am going for this is the motivation I needed to start something. I am hoping I will do this for 30 days, I have joined Shaun T's diet bet I have to lose 8 pounds this month to get my money back but I will be happy if I lose 5 pounds. I have put on twenty pounds and 4 inches everywhere since the last time I did this two years ago so I need to do something. I visited the doctor this week my thyroid level is inline now so the medication is working but my iron level is still too low which is probably why I am tired all the time. I haven't had the energy to do workouts like this in the last couple of years but now I think I am ready. I made it through a couple and I do enjoy them when they are done. Now that I will have a shorter commute I am hoping I can replace my commute time with a workout.

Now that my soupmaker is clean no more burned stuff at the bottom and it is getting colder I had to make soup. The store I was at didn't have the normal organic broth I buy. The Campbell's new one was on sale this is all natural and vegetarian. I knew I wanted to make a soup with sweet potato I wasn't sure how mushroom broth would go with it but it was the only vegetarian one I could find.

All I did was chop the veggies in the picture add them to the soup maker, pour the entire box of broth, add some black pepper put the lid on and set the smooth setting. 26 minutes later I had the most delicious soup. This soup has a nice spicy kick to it its not burning hot it's a nice background heat. I am so happy my soup maker still works I am going to be making delicious soup all winter.
