I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. Vegan Grilled Cheese and Dill Pickle Soup

I have a lot of pickles in my fridge and someone on Instagram had mentioned dill pickle soup. I thought it sounded interesting but I didn’t look up a recipe. 

I was using things I had in my house as I  haven’t gone grocery shopping for awhile. I added vegan butter, half an onion, 1 potato, a few pickles, and lots of spices to the soup maker. I used curry powder, dried parsley, smoked paprika, mushroom seasoning, salt and pepper. I turned the soup maker on and went to do a workout. The soup maker is still my favourite gadget. 

I am always amazed by how good things turn out in the soup maker. I will make this soup again but I will use more vegetables next time to get a creamier texture. 

I found this really good applewood vegan cheddar block from the UK at Save-On-Foods on sale for $8.99. I thought it was expensive when I bought  but the block lasted a long time and it melts great the best melting vegan cheese I have tried so far. I made a grilled cheese with presidents choice vegan butter, sunflower bread from Save-On-Foods and the applewood cheese. Then my hand hit the side of the hot pan and I dropped the sandwich in the soup so you that’s how the sandwich garnished the soup. Enjoy if you make this.

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once. Post Menopausal Bleeding MRI and results

 If you haven’t read my previous posts read part 1   Post Menopausal bleeding and Ultrasounds . It was getting long so I decided to start a new post. I got the call for an MRI at the end of March. It was scheduled for a couple days later at 2 am at Montford hospital. I only know about this hospital because I work for National Defence and we have offices there. I knew it at as the military hospital but it’s actually a separate building. It was still cold and snowing in Ottawa so I wasn’t looking forward to having to be out at 2am. I was also really busy at work but the only options may have been worse weather.  I really didn’t want to take UBER that late when it’s also freezing outside but there are only a few people I could ask to drive me at 2am on a weeknight. I am really grateful that I have some really great friends in Ottawa and my friend drove me and came inside with me.
