Is Air Canada Bulkhead Seat worth an $80 upgrade

Image
I took a flight from Ottawa to Vancouver. I could see from the seating map that the flight was fully booked. I usually pay to book a window seat and then try and get a seat with no one beside me at the last minute it works 50% of the time and the planes that I have been on leaving from Ottawa are not usually full. This time was different the airport was busier than I have ever seen it. I could tell from the seating map the plane was full. It cost $40 to book a window seat. I saw a last minute opening for a bulkhead window seat and decided to try it. It cost $80 to upgrade to the bulkhead seat but the $40 I already paid would get credited. I liked the idea of having a wall in front of me on such a packed flight.  I have free check in luggage with my credit card so I usually only take a backpack to leave under my seat on the plane. If I was in the back of the plane I wait until the last minute to board. I knew I would have no storage at my seat but this seat comes with early zone 3 b...

2017 Year in Review and 2018 Goals

2017 was a year of change for me but I feel like 2018 is going to have bigger changes.

I joined Instagram @livingvancouverloca and post pictures like this

I visited the United States a few times even though Donald Trump became president. I went to Tulalip and stayed in the beautiful resort

I took this plane and Visited Las Vegas a week after the mass shooting there.

I only had a few small contest wins this year a Tim Hortons gift card, some Starbucks, tickets to the home show, and tickets to the Nestle Toll House cafe Vancouver Grand Opening. Total value of the wins less than $100

I got some great freebies to review  from social nature cashew nut ice cream, coffee, salt, chips, vegan pizza, vegan gluten free bread and more. Total value of freebies to review around $75.

I bought and Instant Pot and learned I could make popcorn in it.

Goals 2017

In 2017 I quit my job with a company that I had a very long-term relationship with then I learned
web development. Then I learned I wasn't good at web development and ended the year jobless but not broke yet. Financially it wasn't the best decision but mental and health wise it was the best decision I could possibly make.

I had three major goals for 2017

1.Get Healthier - Mentally I made a lot of progress, physically its a constant battle but I am working on it. This continues to be a goal for 2018.

2. Win a Trip - No luck with this one but I did get a free trip for two to Las Vegas. I used save-on points for the flights and my favourite hotel in Las Vegas South Point comped the room and food. I will consider this goal accomplished.

3. Earn $1000 from the internet. Goal accomplished ended the year with $1040.00. See the previous posts for more info.

I managed to accomplish goal number 3 because I worked at it every day and I wrote it here on the blog so I am going to try and apply the theory to 2018 goals and hopefully I will accomplish these goals.

Goals for 2018

1. Get a job, I pretty much took a year long holiday from working and now it is time to get back into the working world.

2.  Get healthier physically which means losing weight considering I put on 15 pounds last year alone losing that 15 pounds would be a great start.

3. Earn $1375 from the internet this is ideal as it goes along with the 52 week savings challenge that I am doing. For more info see the previous posts.

Hope you enjoyed this blog and will have a wonderful 2018. Follow @livingvancouverloca on Instagram, twitter, and Facebook.
