Vancouver to Alaska Cruise on Norweigan Sun Review

I started writing this on the last day of the cruise and now I have been back for months so the post will change from in the cruise to after. In summary it was great and all four of us ranging in ages from 9 to late 40’s we all want to go back. I bought a 24 hour internet package fot $35 so I can upload all my pictures and hopefully get this post done. I’m currently writing this while getting my hair done at the spa.  The cruise has been great but very busy. I’m having trouble staying awake. It’s now over a week later and I’m home. I had a plane fiasco where we sat on the runway for a few hours and then returned to the gate. I inevitably got sick after that and still am but I really want to get these Alaska cruise blog...

Easy Vegetable Soup with Rice Noodles

When it starts to hail and storm in the middle of May I stay inside and use things in my pantry. This soup is so delicious. 



a quarter package of rice noodles
Frozen veggies (pc corn with jalapeños, artic gardens pasta vegetables)
vegetable broth
spices (salt,pepper, turmeric) 

add everything except rice noodles to soup maker
add water to fill to line 

set to chunky setting

soak rice noodles

when soup maker is ready add noodles


set timer on soup maker to chunky but unplug after 5 minutes

delicious soup is ready

It has been over six months since I had Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). I have some previous blogs about getting diagnosed and the day of the procedure. 2025 Contest wins updated Oct 2025

Last year I started keeping track of the prizes I won. You can read that post here  2024 Contest Prize Wins . It is a great post to have for memories so I’m going to start a new post for 2025. Updated October 2025 It’s mid October and I already have four prizes to write about  Updated September 2025 I received two more prizes from the Coke contest that I won the prize pack from in August. The first item was the emoji cup.  It’s a thicker cup but I think it’s a plastic cup with a wiggly straw. Nice cup but it’s not dishwasher safe so I will probably give it away. I just went to look up the value and people are selling this for $25. Its value is $14.99.  The best part of this prize was learning exactly what those mysterious lockers are for. I’ve lived in my building for three years we have Canada Post lockers, and a package room but there are these other lockers. None of my neighbors knew what it was for. If you haven’t read my previous blog posts about fibroids and UFE this post will make more sense after reading these posts   Recovery Six months after UFE   Fibroids, Ultrasound, MRI, UFE during a Pandemic Since I don’t have any pictures to go along with this post enjoy the scenery pictures that are from Vancouver and Ottawa. I went into menopause in my forties after having uterine fibroid embolization for fibroids. I was loving menopause not worrying about bleeding was so great. All the symptoms I had except for a few were easier than dealing with fibroid periods. I went to Jamaica with my friend in April and she got hers on the trip and I was like I don’t miss those days. She was lucky her's only lasted a few days but mine always lasted longer than my trip. Almost exactly three years after UFE I went to the bathroom in the morning and there was blood in the toilet.
