Started 2025 with a trip to Las Vegas

It’s now December 31, 2025 Im drinking tea in an ice cream shop in Ottawa realizing I never finished this post. I drafted this post earlier in the year but it’s all still relevant.  The  way the world has changed in the last few months I feel like I need to explain that I went to Las Vegas in early 2025 because I knew things were going to change after January 20. I didn’t know how. I was expecting more violence and less direct flights. I never expected that things would change so quickly in a few months. It is now the beginning of March and it’s hard to keep up. Anyways flights and tourism to US destinations are already significantly reduced from Canada. I finished this trip knowing it would be awhile before I visited the US again and it was a pretty perfect trip for my memories and I am glad I took it.  I have been to Las Vegas many times you can read about some of my previous trips on this blog. 5000 hits on Mturk and online earnings update October 2020

I finally hit 5000 hits on mturk. This is a milestone for many mturkers because it has potential to open up more hits. I only do things I enjoy on mturk so it took me years but I am happy I finally did it. Although I don´t spend a lot of time on mturk you can see that over the last few years I have earned over $1200 US dollars which has given me some nice entertainment money. I work on many different platforms in my sparetime I think my goal for this year was $1500. This is doing things I enjoy in my spare time. Many of these platforms are based on ad revenue and the pandemic made that decrease. Things are coming back now but 2020 has been a special year even in the online earnings world. I don´t know if I will make the goal this year but I will definately be able to get to $1000 this year. I have cashed out $750 this year and hopefully the rest of the year will be better. The platforms that are good constantly change and part of the work is finding platforms that have good work and pay fairly. These are the list of what I have made so far. prolific 270.94 mturk 225.65 Quora 74.98 other 87.31 Task Up 38.00 field agent 29.75 PineCone 24.00 Total 750.94 Prolific is the best platform the pay is in British Pounds and the pay rates are good. It is mostly academic surveys so there is not that much work. Mturk has a lot of different work but you need to filter to find things that are fair. Quora pays based on ad revenue but its passive revenue once the initial work is done. Task Up is a newer platform and has potential. Some of the other sites were good in the past but this year the work has reduced. I will keep working towards my goals. Many platforms are now restricing new users because of the amount of people wanting to work due to the pandemic.     Cool. I tried out Prolific but it said that it wasn't open for South Asians or so....

I won over $1300 worth of contest prizes in 2025

Last year I started keeping track of the prizes I won. You can read that post here  2024 Contest Prize Wins . It is a great post to have for memories so now I have a yearly post.  Updated January 1, 2026  I only had one more win since the last update it was a $10 scratch ticket from waypoint. I have won other smaller prizes like chocolate or drinks from waypoint that I usually giveaway. This is the first time I actually went to a waypoint to get my prize. It’s a gas station convenience store very small but cute. The ticket didn’t win anything. It’s now 2026 so this will be the last update for this post. November and December were really slow for prize wins for me. November makes sense because I took a break from entering but I’m not sure what happened in December. I entered a lot sometimes that’s just the luck but hopefully I will start the year with a few wins. I do have a few small prize wins that haven’t come yet. I made a vegan Dubai chocolate bar

I wanted to try a proper vegan version of the viral  Dubai chocolate. I have tried the one from Palm bites  and  it’s good but it’s a healthier version made from dark chocolate and the pistachio is the crunch. I have also tried the cookie from Naturally Vero since they had an option to get it with my meal prep delivery. They do make a chocolate bar  but they don’t deliver it. I like the cookie filling but find it was too heavy in the cookie. Juice Dudez also has the filling in a mango pudding which is excellent but they don’t do a vegan chocolate yet. I am hoping I will convince them or any other Ottawa vendor to make one some day. In the meantime I had to make one myself.  I have asked my vendor friends to make me one even sent them the recipes but no one has yet. I really wanted to try a proper unhealthy version just once.
