2026 Contest Wins

Image
I like to have a yearly blog post of the contests I win. It is nice to have these posts to look back on for memories. You can see the previous posts here  2024 Contest Wins  and  2025 Contest Prizes I haven’t won anything since October last year. If you know me I usually have some decent luck but it’s been an unlucky few months for me. I currently have been out of my apartment for almost two weeks because of my buildings water valve breaking right outside my unit. I have had so many more things happen lately but let’s go back to contest winnings. Yesterday my old boss texted me after a long time and I was remembering how I used to win big prizes after I met him. Well I won a contest right after that so he definitely brought my good luck back. The mall had a contest for its newsletter subscribers for a $25 gift card it was an instant win, I received the gift card today. It was a little bit of a pain to get the card because I had to download an app and then I was able to ad...

Vegan airfryer donuts

Image
Vegan Air Fried Donuts I have been experimenting trying to get the best tasting vegan donuts cooked in the Airfryer. I don’t deep fry. and there a no good donut stores close to where I live so attempted to make some.  There are lots of donut recipes on the internet I am not good at following recipes and don’t want to bother with things like rolling out dough. I also wanted to get more of a donut shop texture versus baked. The yeast and baking powder works really well.  This recipe is good I am the only one that has tried them though.  I do not usually measure ingredients which is why I don’t bake but I tried so you can make them and give me some feedback. Comment below or on Instagram @livingvancouverloca.  Vegan Airfryer Donuts  Ingredients  2 Tbsp vegan butter melted  1 Tbsp yeast 1 Tbsp sugar  1/4 cup water  1 Tsp baking powder  2-3 cups flour (depends on weather) Pinch salt  Few drops of vanilla (or flavouring of choice)  A...

Vegan gluten-free sweet potato cake bites

Image
This an adaptation of the sweet potato brownie recipe I tried a few years ago. Read that post here  https://www.livingvancouverloca.com/2017/10/october-30-2017-healthy-flourless-vegan.html . New twist these are cooked in the Instant Vortex Plus airfryer oven and the method is a little different. These turned out so good add a bit of alcohol and these could definitely be a dessert option in a fancy restaurant.  Yesterday I cooked the sweet potato  in the Instantpot on manual pressure for 10 minutes. Let it sit for an hour and then put them in the fridge over night.  I was making these for breakfast I wanted pancakes and also wanted to see what brownies would taste like. I forgot the maple syrup by accident it wasn’t needed. Pressure cooking the potatoes brings out the sweetness. The only baking tray that fits in my airfryer oven is the mini cupcake one which is perfect.  For the method I dumped the ingredients in the bowl without measuring. I have approximat...

5000 hits on Mturk and online earnings update October 2020

Image
I finally hit 5000 hits on mturk. This is a milestone for many mturkers because it has potential to open up more hits. I only do things I enjoy on mturk so it took me years but I am happy I finally did it. Although I don´t spend a lot of time on mturk you can see that over the last few years I have earned over $1200 US dollars which has given me some nice entertainment money. I work on many different platforms in my sparetime I think my goal for this year was $1500. This is doing things I enjoy in my spare time. Many of these platforms are based on ad revenue and the pandemic made that decrease. Things are coming back now but 2020 has been a special year even in the online earnings world. I don´t know if I will make the goal this year but I will definately be able to get to $1000 this year. I have cashed out $750 this year and hopefully the rest of the year will be better. The platforms that are good constantly change and part of the work is finding platforms that have good work ...

Vegan Mayonnaise airfryer bread

Image
I was curious if vegan mayo is good for baking so time for some experiments. I am not a baker and do not measure ingredients I like to experiment. This turned out amazing I have already made it twice slightly different method. Method one came out pastry like and method 2 was more like deep dish pizza crust. Both were excellent.  I don’t measure ingredients but I’ll try to give you a recipe.  Method 1: ingredients vegan mayo, flour, olive oil Add 1 tablespoon of yeast and vegan mayo to 1/2 cup tap water in a bowl mix with spoon. Add 2 cups of flour and mix with hands keep adding flour until consistency looks like this Cover with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature. I put mine inside the Instant pot. After a few hours it will look like this. This is a fun dough to play with it doesn’t fall apart easily. Add a little olive oil before shaping the dough.  I tried cooking some but it was better after being in the fridge overnight.  After letting it sit in the frid...
